Bringing the UN’s Goals to the Classroom
Background
When BBC Bitesize commissioned us to create a new series exploring the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we saw an opportunity to make complex global challenges meaningful and relevant for young learners. Our goal was to deliver content that was both educational and inspiring - mapped specifically to the Scottish Level 3 curriculum.
Our Approach
Working closely with curriculum specialists at the University of Strathclyde, we developed 17 short-form films - each one bringing a different SDG to life through an accessible mix of live action, motion graphics, and editorial overlays. Every decision we made - from the narrative structure to the casting of fresh, diverse talent for narration - was designed to engage students aged 11–14 and support teachers in delivering these important topics in the classroom.
Each film was tightly packed with real-world context while remaining lively and age-appropriate, providing educators with a robust visual resource to enrich learning.
Attic delivered:
- Workshops
- Learning design
- Scripting
- AV production
- Post Production
